What Does This Mean for Your Practice?
More than 40 million people in the United States suffer from varicose veins; and it is estimated that 41% of women over the age of 50 have varicose veins.* For these patients, varicose veins can be much more than a cosmetic concern.
VascuLife is a state of the art technology designed for endovenous laser ablation, EVLA, and maximizing outcomes without downtime.
Insurance reimbursements for EVLA range from $1500 to $2300.
VascuLife helps providers with additional advantages:
- An in-office procedure
- Minimally invasive
- Typically performed in less than 30 minutes
- Minimal risk of unwanted side effects
Patients may return to normal activities immediately
following surgery.

Robotic Pullback

During EVLA procedures, the fiber is pulled back while light energy is delivered by a 360 degree radial fiber to the wall of the targeted vein. The light energy is absorbed by the lining of the blood vessel.
Alma’s unique robotic pullback gives providers the ability to automate control of the lasing process. The automatic pullback mechanism actively overcomes vein locking and providers continuous, real-time feedback to the main unit for monitoring the pullback speed and distance.
The pullback speed is adjustable for one to four nm / second. The “pull and cool” feature allows for pre-set breaks at 1cm intervals.
1470 nm – the Ideal Wavelength
- Superficial penetration depth
- The ideal wavelength for peak water absorption in soft tissue
- Delivers excellent ablation of the vein wall, with less bruising than alternative methods
- Heats the vein wall to ablation temperature faster
- Heat generation is localized and controlled with minimal damage to the surrounding tissue
Quick Seal & Heal –
The Alma Radial Advantage
Alma’s Angel™ (360 degree) radial fiber delivers 1470 nm laser energy directly into the venous wall ensuring homogenous ablation,
immediate sealing of the vein and faster wound healing. Once the diseased vein is sealed off, blood is re-routed to other healthy veins

For treating different size veins Alma’s radial emission fibers provide easiest access for even the most difficult veins.
- Single use sterile disposable radial emission fiber
- 400 micron radial emission fiber
- 600 micron radial emission fiber
Radial covered Tip Fiber to
Maximize Safety
Bare fibers require a higher level of energy to achieve good results. The increased energy can cause serious problems such as charring the vein wall and other adverse effects. VascuLife features a radial covered tip, maximizing visibility

Flat Bare Fiber
- More prone to adverse effects
- Can create charring of the vein wall
- Higher level of energy required
under ultrasound and requiring lower levels of energy to achieve the desired outcome. The result is less focal charring and a minimized risk of adverse side effects.

Radial Covered Tip Fiber
- Homogeneous ablation with less focal charring of the vein wall
- Radial Covered Tip
- Maximizes tip visibility under ultrasound
- Lower level energy required
- Minimizes adverse effects
Multiplatform Application
and Portability
The VascuLife device allows practitioners to expand into other revenue marking channels such as laser assisted lipolysis by adding additional accessories or hand pieces.
Patient Benefits
- 1470 nm optimal wavelength = better results
- 360 degree radial fiber leads to better vein closer
- Minimal post procedure pain
- No downtime
- High success rate and low recurrence rate
Outpatient procedure – reimbursable by insurance
