Alma Introduces the Industry’s First Fractional Plasma RF Technology

Alma Introduces the Industry’s First Fractional Plasma RF Technology

Buffalo Grove, Illinois – (Feb. 12, 2019) – Alma, Inc., announces the North American release of Opus™, a new modern aesthetic platform featuring the company’s proprietary high-frequency unipolar radio-frequency technology, Opus Plasma™. As the first-of-its-kind fractional plasma technology, Opus Plasma represents a new chapter for energy-based devices, addressing global or localized textural and skin quality concerns often corrected with conventional fractional resurfacing lasers in the past.

Opus Plasma is the first fractional plasma technology to enter the fractional resurfacing category. “Fractional plasma will change how we think about resurfacing. If full-field CO2 technology was resurfacing 1.0, and fractional technology was resurfacing 2.0, fractional plasma technology is resurfacing 3.0,” said Jeffrey Hsu, M.D., FAAD, a board-certified dermatologist at Oak Dermatology in the Greater Chicago Area. “I can produce results to match the most aggressive CO2 laser or the gentlest laser peel in a fraction of the procedure time and much less patient downtime. The results we’re seeing with Opus Plasma are quite impressive, even after just one treatment.”

Operating at a high frequency of over 40MHz, the metal pins on the Opus Plasma tips are super-charged with high-RF voltage. When in close proximity of the skin, the RF-charged pins react to atmospheric pressure in the air, creating plasma that in turn, creates the microthermal zones of fractional injuries. The plasma intensity can be adjusted based on the desired ablation effect, which further expands the versatility of the technology – a light, moderate or aggressive resurfacing result can be achieved based on the desired outcome and patient skin type.

“The release of Opus with Opus Plasma meets our commitment to position our proprietary innovations at the forefront,” says Avi Farbstein, CEO of Alma, North America. “Thanks to our team overseas, the clinical benefits of Microplasma RF have been thoughtfully studied for years. We believe the market is ready and the timing is right to take this novel innovation mainstream as a mainstay skin resurfacing solution for our customers.”

Attendees at the 2020 American Academy of Dermatology conference can experience the benefits of Opus with Opus Plasma at Alma’s Booth #3717.

Alma Lasers to Debut BeautiFill™ Fat Transfer System

Alma Lasers to Debut BeautiFill™ Fat Transfer System

BeautiFill is the first laser-based system to optimize the autologous fat transfer process

Buffalo Grove, Illinois – (Feb. 12, 2019) – Alma Lasers, Inc. announces the North American debut of BeautiFill, the first laser-based system designed to optimize the process, time and quality of autologous fat transfer for complete aesthetic contouring. BeautiFill combines laser, suction and fat processing into one simple step, allowing physicians to quickly harvest and process high-quality fat for immediate reimplantation to address volume loss. The debut will take place at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology on March 1 – 5, 2019, in Washington, D.C.

Introducing BeautiFill
Autologous fat transfer is the next frontier in aesthetic medicine. “Losing volume is a natural part of the aging process, but the options to satisfy larger quantities of volume loss have been limited and cost-prohibitive for patients,” said Daniel Friedmann, M.D., FAAD, a board-certified dermatologist at Westlake Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery in Austin, TX. “BeautiFill is more than just a complete system for autologous fat transfer, it’s a comprehensive solution. With BeautiFill we now can achieve consistency in high fat viability, and together with Alma’s investment in training, providers can expect to maximize the longevity of their fat transfer results.”

One of the novel features of BeautiFill is its proprietary conical tip laser fiber encased in a protective glass sheath. This design diffuses the power density to protect the adipose and further allows the energy to be distributed in a 360-degree radius for efficient detachment of fat for simultaneous aspiration. In a controlled study, the adipose tissue from BeautiFill consistently achieved high fat cell viability in the high 90s and 40% more injectable fat over mechanical liposuction.

“The launch of BeautiFill addresses two demands in our market — an alternative method to achieve fat reduction for body contouring and an all-in-one solution for fat transfer,” says Avi Farbstein, CEO of Alma Lasers, North America. “BeautiFill offers physicians the opportunity to be on the cutting edge of aesthetic medicine and for some, a new procedure and revenue stream for their practice.”

Attendees at the 2019 American Academy of Dermatology conference can experience the benefits of BeautiFill at Alma Lasers’ Booth #2009.

Alma Lasers Inc. Introduces the First and Only Laser Hair Removal* Platform to Offer Three Wavelengths.

Alma Lasers Inc. Introduces the First and Only Laser Hair Removal* Platform to Offer Three Wavelengths.

Alma’s popular Soprano ICE™ platform now incorporates Nd: YAG, creating the only hair removal platform to offer 810nm, 755nm, and 1064nm technologies.

Buffalo Grove, Illinois – (June 6, 2017) – Alma Lasers, a global innovator of laser, light-based, radiofrequency and ultrasound solutions for the aesthetic and surgical markets, announced today the launch of 1064 Nd: YAG capabilities on its Soprano ICE platform, creating the first and only hair removal platform to offer all three of the most trusted and reliable wavelengths.

Alma Lasers leads the industry in hair removal technology. The company introduced IN-Motion™ to the hair removal market, giving providers the ability to offer extremely comfortable hair removal with 810 Diode technology. IN-Motion works by gradually heating the dermis to a temperature that effectively damages the hair follicle and minimizes regrowth. The treatment is superior to older technologies that simply blast the follicle with as much laser-heat as possible.

Alma added Alexandrite technology to its Soprano ICE platform in 2014. The addition helped providers address the toughest hair removal cases and deliver exceptional results while maintaining unprecedented levels of comfort for patients.

Now, with the addition of Nd: YAG technology, providers can use the 1064 wavelength to help even more people address unwanted body hair. The 1064nm Nd: YAG wavelength is characterized by lower absorption making it an ideal wavelength for darker skin types. In addition, this module can also be used for the treatment of Pseudo Folliculitis Barbae (PFB).The advantages that Alma’s famous for remain in place; exceptionally comfortable treatment, no consumables, and unlimited pulses.

Award Winning Soprano ICE

For industry professionals, this signals a new era in hair removal.

For the first time, providers will have the ability to select one of three, optimal wavelengths for hair removal. This innovation puts 810 Diode, Alexandrite 755, and Nd: YAG 1064 at the operator’s fingertips. By evaluating the patient’s skin type and hair, the provider can completely customize treatment utilizing the proper technology or combination of technologies to achieve optimal results.

“Soprano ICE is already legendary,” says Avi Farbstein, CEO of Alma Lasers North America. “The device has seven years of clinically proven effectiveness, is FDA cleared for skin types I-VI, including tanned skin. Providers have the advantages of pre-set parameters and a light, ergonomic applicator. Most of all, they are able to offer extremely comfortable hair removal with maximized results and minimal risk of adverse side effects. The addition of 1064 YAG capabilities makes it even better.”

Alma invites industry professional to learn more about Soprano ICE and, as a bonus, to download their free e-book, “Ten Ways to Maximize Hair Removal Revenues.” The e-book has been published in multiple languages around the world. It’s available for a limited time here https://www.almalasers.com/us/ten-ways/.
