Each proprietary mode — Bipolar and Unipolar — is delivered by a discrete handpiece to distribute therapeutic heat at different tissue depths within the body. The UniPolar™ handpiece provides deep dermal and subdermal heating of large areas by creating a thermal injury that stimulates the body's ability to remodel collagen. The BiPolar handpiece provides local, superficial dermal heating. This shallow heating is very effective in treating overall skin laxity. Technology in use
The dual radio frequency modes produce therapeutic heat in two ways:
- Tissue resistance to BiPolar RF current creates local, superficial dermal heating
- UniPolar™ RF generates alternating electromagnetic fields that cause rotation and friction in the dipole water molecules of deeper tissue
