AFT is the next generation of multi-application pulsed light technology. Its breakthrough design converts unused UV light into the optimal spectrum for each application.
This dramatic boost in efficiency also extends the life of the pulsed light handpiece (up to three times longer than that of other pulsed light systems), which significantly lowers the cost of ownership.
Precision heating
The unique shape of each AFT pulse limits peak power to only the therapeutic range, which precisely heats its intended target with remarkably little or no skin damage or discomfort. An advanced algorithm stabilizes each pulse to ensure predictable, reproducible treatments that are safe and effective.
Specific targeting
AFT spectra precisely target unwanted blood vessels and melanin, while it gently preserves surrounding tissue to leave skin soft and smooth. Indications
AFT excels at treating indications such as:

Hair Removal
Hair removal is the most popular light-based aesthetic procedure in the world, and intense pulsed light is by far the most popular method of performing photoepilation. Using an HR AFT handpiece, HarmonyXL can deliver fast, effective results for permanent hair reduction on all skin types, including tanned skin.
How it works
n AFT hair removal, a large rectangular pulse of broad-spectrum light is applied to the surface of the skin. The energy travels harmlessly through the epidermis and dermis until it strikes the hair follicle, which contains a dense, melanin-rich hair shaft and bulb.
The dark-colored melanin absorbs the light and briefly spikes in temperature, destroying the hair-producing cells surrounding the follicle. Because the heat is not sustained, however, no damage occurs outside the follicle area.
Acne
Clear inflammatory acne lesions without drugs or undesirable side effects, with the AFT Acne Handpiece. Intense blue wavelengths in the range of 420-950 nm target the porphyrins produced as part of the normal metabolism of p. acnes bacteria. The interaction of the intense blue light and the porphyrins creates singlet oxygen that rapidly destroys the bacteria without damaging the surrounding tissue.
