Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, February 16, 2006, www.almalasers.com – Alma Lasers™, Ltd. Alma Lasers™ Ltd., a global manufacturer and marketer of laser, light-based and radiofrequency systems for the aesthetic market, announced today it has received a full Health Canada Medical Device license for its new Accent system, a dual mode radiofrequency system. The Accent system is a novel device which comprises both Unipolar and Bipolar radiofrequency treatment heads for various aesthetic applications. Chief Executive Officer and President Ziv Karni, Ph.D. said, "The new Accent system is an exciting, very competitive product that provides users with a unique technology for treating a range of desired clinical indications which do not have elegant non-invasive solutions at this time. Accent is the only system on the market which offers both bipolar and unipolar RF. The unipolar mode is used mainly for applications on the truncal area, whereas the bipolar mode is used primarily on the facial area. At this time, we have more than 350 Accent devices installed in 15 countries worldwide. Thousands of patients have been treated with Accent and we have received enthusiastic reports of the system's efficacy from both physicians and patients." Dr. Amber Brown of Ontario, Canada, an investigational physician for the Accent system, stated, "As a cosmetic service provider I am delighted to have the Accent Radiofrequency system as a body contouring and skin tightening tool for my practice. The Accent is a novel radiofrequency device that comfortably creates deep tissue heating for dramatic and reliable results. My patients love the impressive tissue changes achieved through the Accent's pleasant, no downtime sessions and my practice is flourishing from the growth in clientele. It is the best new tool for any aesthetic practice. I am very excited to have it available." President of the Americas, Mauro Wjuniski said, "The Health Canada approval joins the recent Australian TGA approval received by the Accent and widens the market for this product, which has been so eagerly accepted by physicians who have had the opportunity of adding it to their practice. We expect continued growth in revenue as this product gains even wider acceptance." |
